The Kids in Community Awards Night on Tuesday 5 August will feature a performance by Diana Anaid, one of Australia’s most admired and respected original indie musicians.

Diana has shared stages with John Butler, Xavier Rudd and Pete Murray as well as Grinspoon and Powderfinger.

Fans adore the rags-to-riches rocker, best known for her uncompromising lyrics, voice and energetic live shows.

“While Kids in Community supports and encourages young people to help others as well as helping themselves, Diana has herself overcome a life of obstacles and challenges, enduring homelessness, abuse and poverty to become one of Australia’s favourite musician’s with a voice that lifts her listeners to beautiful heights of self-empowerment,” Kids in Community secretary Maria Kelly said.

“Diana is a known advocate of youth issues and has offered to perform at the awards as part of her commitment to help and inspire young people.”

There are still some tickets available to the KIC Awards Night, but sales close today, July 30.

Tickets are on sale at the Lismore Workers Club and branches of Southern Cross Credit Union. For more information phone 6624 4053.

“With a range of fantastic nominations and Robbie Buck of triplej as the guest speaker, the Awards Night promises to be the best yet,” Ms Kelly said.

“Now with Diana Anaid making a guest appearance, it will be a full house!”
