A man will face court today after being charged with drug offences following an undercover operation in Nimbin.
In March this year Richmond Local Area Command initiated Operation Mickey to investigate the street-level supply of prohibited drugs in the Nimbin area.
After ongoing undercover investigations by police attached to Operation Mickey, officers attended a car park in Main Beach near Byron Bay on 21 August and arrested a 22-year-old Nimbin man.
Police will allege the man was in possession of 1000 pills believed to be Methamphetamine.
The man has been charged with supply prohibited drug on an ongoing basis and four counts of supply prohibited drug.
He was bail refused to appear at Byron Bay Local Court today.
Richmond Local Area Commander, Superintendent Bruce Lyons, said: “This is further evidence that police will continue to focus attention and resources on people suspected of being involved with all illicit drugs in the Nimbin area.”
