Disabled Surfers Far North Coast branch will hold a Hands-on Day at Shelly Beach, Ballina, on Saturday, October 18, and is calling for volunteers to help out.
The Disabled Surfers Association has been operating for 21 years and aims to create a safe, happy and exhilarating surf experience for disabled people.
It was initally set up up to help disabled and injured surfers get back in the water, but now caters for physically and intellectually challenged disabled people.
Volunteers can be surfers or simply people who are keen to help out. Their presence will be required for about three hours from 9am.
Participants should attend by 10am.
