An 18-year-old Ballina male was arrested twice by police in less than 24 hours over the weekend.

At 2.40am on Saturday morning the male was arrested and charged with offensive language and intimidation in River Street, Ballina, after being involved in an incident outside licensed premises.
 
Police will allege the male has attended a service station in Lismore at 7.15am on Saturday morning where he has allegedly attempted to obtain money and goods with menaces whilst partially disguised.

The male has left the store with alleged stolen goods a short time later.

Police have attended the area and located the male in Brewster Street a short time later.

The male has been charged with Demand Money with Menaces and Steal from retail store and bailed to Lismore Court on Monday.

Two brothers aged 20 and 25 have been charged with assault after an incident in Newbridge Street, South Lismore, at 6pm on Sunday afternoon.

A 23-year-old male victim suffered soft-tissue injury in the assault.

Police and fire brigade attended a fire in an old fig tree at 3.30am on Monday morning in Invercauld Road, Goonellabah, when it reignited after recently being hit by a lightning strike.
