Two men have been charged and cannabis worth more than $265,000 has been seized following a joint raid, led by Drug Squad detectives, on a remote northern NSW property.

As a result of information received, a property on Tooloom Plantation Road, Tooloom, near Tabulam, was raided shortly after 2.30pm yesterday.

The search warrant was conducted by NSW Drug Squad detectives, with the assistance of officers from the Richmond Local Area Command.

During the execution of the search warrant, it will be alleged detectives located 1.9kg of cannabis in a vehicle.

A further search of the property led to the seizure of recently harvested cannabis plants and drying leaf.

The cannabis has a combined estimated potential street value of more than $127,000.

Two men, aged 40 and 62, were arrested at the scene and each charged with possess prohibited drug.

They are due to appear in Kyogle Local Court on Thursday 12 June 2008.

This morning officers from the Richmond Local Area Command conducted an additional search in the nearby Tooloom National Park.

During the search, officers located 40 cannabis plants, as well as drying harvested leaf, worth a combined estimated potential street value of $140,000.
