A teenager is due to face court today following the alleged stabbing of a man at a party at Tenterfield.

Shortly before 3am yesterday emergency services were called to a home in Margaret Street after reports a 25-year-old man had been stabbed twice in the buttocks.

It is alleged the incident occurred during a party at the home.

The injured man was taken by ambulance to Tenterfield Hospital where he was treated and released.

A crime scene was established and a number of witnesses interviewed by police from the New England Local Area Command.

As a result of their inquiries, police arrested a 17-year-old male at a Tenterfield house shortly before 6pm yesterday.

He was taken to Tenterfield Police Station for questioning and subsequently charged with recklessly wound another person.

The youth was refused bail to appear in Armidale Children’s Court today.
