Highway Patrol police operating on Operation Richmond Speed, targeting anti-social driving behaviour within the command, have charged an 18-year-old Lismore male with Speed Dangerous over 45kph.

The male was detected riding his 2006 Kawasaki near the intersection of Ballina Road and Kadina Street, Goonellabah, at 5.22am Thursday morning.

A 51-year-old Union Street, Lismore, male was allegedly robbed and assaulted in Union Street shortly after midnight on Thursday morning as he was heading home.

The male received a severe laceration to his jaw after falling whilst being hit by several alleged offenders.

In the incident he was robbed of an amount of cash.

Police urge motorists to drive to the conditions during inclement weather, as a number of minor accidents were reported within the last 24 hours.

Residents are reminded to secure credit card details, not to give the PIN to anyone, and not to let the card out of their sight when conducting transactions.

There have been a number of credit card frauds reported to police where unauthorised use of the credit cards has been detected.
