A 21-year-old man has been arrested in Kyogle and charged with multiple offences following the alleged aggravated break-in and serious assaults upon residents from a unit address in Coffs Harbour.
The arrest by Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command detectives brings the total number of people charged over the alleged incident to three.
Shortly before 1am on Sunday (2 November) five students were at home when three men are alleged to have forced entry into a unit on Arthur Street, Coffs Harbour.
The residents were detained in the premises and a quantity of cash and property, including computers and mobile telephones, were stolen from them.
It is also alleged the men seriously assaulted two male residents, aged 19 and 26, and a 21-year-old woman.
Detectives from Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command, together with ambulance officers, attended the premises and a crime scene was established.
About 12.30pm on Friday, police arrested a 21-year-old man at Kyogle after information received from the public.
He was questioned and subsequently refused bail to appear at Lismore Local Court charged with:
· Aggravated enter dwelling with intent to commit serious indictable offence
· Detain in company with intent to obtain advantage
· Two counts of aggravated sexual assault in company
· Three counts of aggravated robbery
