Three young males aged 15, 15 and 14 made a lucky escape on Monday afternoon at 5.43pm when the aluminium tinny they were in on the Richmond River, Ballina, overturned due to conditions.

All three were able to make it to shore safely, uninjured and not needing medical attention.

Concerns were raised by police as only one male had on a life jacket at the time.

Offenders have targeted a business premises in Dalley Street, East Lismore, between 11.40pm Monday night and 6am Tuesday morning.

Stolen were two laptop computers.

Police are presently attending a motor vehicle located at Ruthven where a child has been locked in a vehicle.

Police send out a warning to parents and carers — ‘Hot Cars Kill Kids’ — as we approach the warmer weather.

It is an offence to leave children unattended in motor vehicle for any period of time.
