Today’s annual Thanksgiving Service for the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter served as a reminder of the organisation’s value to the community in more ways than one.
Not long after the service started, the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter was called out to retrieve a patient following reports of a tractor accident on a private property at Tenterfield.
With the service under way at the Lismore helibase, pilot Mike Sterritt, crewman Michael Kerry, NSW Ambulance Intensive Care Paramedic Kim Hanlon and Paramedic Stephen Goulding took to the sky on yet another rescue mission.
The annual service is hosted by Emergency Services and hospital chaplains as a way for communities of the Far North Coast to acknowledge and thank the emergency services personnel who do extraordinary things to assist those in need in our community in difficult and trying circumstances every day.
Representatives from all emergency services outfits in the Northern Rivers and surrounding areas attend.
