Richmond Local Area Command (LAC) is responding to an increase in cattle theft in the area with a ‘Dob In A Duffer’ initiative.
Police want to hear from anyone who may have information on cattle thieves and are particularly interested in hearing from primary producers and country residents who may have come in contact with such offenders.
Richmond LAC rural crime investigator Detective Senior Constable Craig Jones said details of livestock thefts were never immediately reported to police, making investigation difficult.
“Police are keen to hear from anyone with information regarding incidents of cattle theft by calling Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or the Richmond LAC Rural Crime Investigator, at Casino Police Station on 666 20029. All persons will remain anonymous with your information being treated with strict confidentiality,” Det Snr Cst Jones said.
