Police have uncovered a major cannabis plantation near Tenterfield, in the New England region.
Police executed a search warrant on a property on Rocky River Road at Rocky River, east of Tenterfield, about 2pm yesterday (Tuesday 11 May).
They allegedly located and seized 1058 small cannabis plants and a number of other items.
The drugs have an estimated potential street value of just over $1 million.
Yesterday’s operation follows the discovery of about 340 cannabis plants growing in another area of the same property in late April.
New England Local Area Command police, assisted by the Target Action Group, are continuing their inquiries.
They’re appealing for public assistance and anyone who has information about the cannabis plantation is urged to contact Tenterfield Police Station on (02) 6771 0699.
Anyone with information about the cultivation or manufacture and supply of prohibited drugs is urged to contact their local police via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and those who provide information that leads to an arrest may be eligible for a $1000 reward.
