A man has been charged and will face court today following a joint investigation by police from New South Wales and Queensland, into alleged solicit to murder offences.
About 12.35pm yesterday (Wednesday 19 May, 2010), a 29-year-old man was arrested by police at Ballina.
He was taken to Ballina Police Station and subsequently charged with three counts of solicit to murder.
He was refused bail and will appear at Ballina Local Court today.
The charges relate to an alleged plan to have three people murdered in Queensland in return for a payment of $150,000.
Strike Force Manahan is a joint investigation comprising detectives from the NSW State Crime Command’s Drug Squad and the State Drug and Property Crime Group attached to the State Crime Operations Command, Queensland Police Service.
The Strike Force was established in April this year to investigate the alleged matter. Investigations into the incident are continuing.
