Two teenagers will appear in court next month after being charged in relation to an alleged affray and assault at Kingscliff.

During the early hours of last Saturday (12 June 2010), a 17-year-old male was allegedly hit with a blunt object similar to a tyre iron, then kicked and punched, during an altercation at an address in Quiggan Street.

The teenager was taken to hospital and treated for a range of injuries, including a fractured elbow, fractured eye socket, concussion, multiple bruising and lacerations

Officers attached to Tweed/Byron Local Area Command commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident and today arrested two males, aged 15 and 16.

They were taken to Tweed Heads Police Station where they were charged with affray and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Both teenagers have been granted conditional bail to appear in Tweed Heads Children’s Court on 12 July 2010.
