Three people will appear in court today after being charged with a raft of property offences in Tweed Heads.
Just after midday yesterday Tweed Heads Police attended a unit in Kennedy Drive at Tweed Heads where they arrested a 41-year-old man, a 38-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman, all from Tweed Heads.
Police will allege during a search of the property they located an amount of jewellery, mobile phones, MP3 players and coins.
It will be alleged the property is believed to have been stolen from a number of recent break-ins and thefts from motor vehicles in the Tweed Heads area.
The three were taken to Tweed Heads Police Station where they were interviewed by officers, with the 41-year-old man being charged with aggravated break and enter, receiving and goods in custody.
The 38-year-old man was charged with aggravated break and enter, break, enter and steal, possess prohibited drug, possess prescribed restricted substance as well as two counts each of receiving and goods in custody.
The 31-year-old woman was charged with aggravated break and enter, receiving and goods in custody.
All three were refused bail to appear in Tweed Heads Local Court today.
“A recent increase in property-related crimes in the Tweed Heads area has seen a concentration by officers in detecting and arresting offenders,” said Detective Inspector Shane Diehm, Crime Manager at Tweed Heads Local Area Command.
“These arrests should serve as a warning to those involved in crime that police are determined to bring you to justice.
