It’s a big weekend for Summerland AFL this weekend, with all grand finals being played on the ‘hallowed local turf’ of Oakes Oval, Lismore.

The action kicks off at 9am with the Under-10s mixed game, culminating in the senior grand final between Ballina Bombers and Byron Magpies from 2.30pm.

Ballina beat the Magpies in the major semi-final to go straight into the grand final with a 13.5 (83) to 10.15 (75) at Fripp Oval, Ballina.

Byron beat Lismore Swans 19.9 (123) to 10.15 (75) in the preliminary final to earn another crack at Ballina and the chance to win their 11th flag.

  • 11:45am-1:10pm: U/14 Ballina Bombers v Tweed Tigers (1 hr 25min).

  • 1:20pm-2:10pm: U/16 Northern Rivers High School Cup Grand Final (50min, 20-min halves).
  • 2.30pm: Senior Grand Final, Ballina Bombers v Byron Magpies (half-time: Auskick).
