For more than 100 years surf lifesavers have answered the call from our community, assisting swimmers in distress and providing families with peace of mind.
Now surf lifesaving clubs across the country are encouraging Australians to “answer the call” with Telstra’s latest Surf Life Saving Australia campaign designed to provide financial assistance to clubs.
From now until the end of April 2009, Telstra will contribute $30 to surf lifesaving clubs for every customer who signs up to an eligible Telstra mobile plan on the Next G™ network or a BigPond® broadband plan and mentions this offer*.
Once customers sign up, they can nominate which participating surf lifesaving club will receive the $30 contribution from Telstra.
As a show of thanks, customers will also receive an exclusive Surf Life Saving beach towel.
“We hope customers who may be thinking of buying a new Telstra mobile phone or signing up to a new BigPond internet service over summer will keep this promotion in mind. The simple action of selecting an eligible plan with their mobile or internet service and mentioning this offer will have direct financial benefits for surf life saving and the community,” said John Beasley, Branch President from Surf Life Saving Far North Coast Branch Inc.
“Money raised will go towards equipment such as rescue boards, rescue tubes and defibrillators.
“While we are excited at the prospect of receiving additional funds this summer, we are also determined to show our surf lifesaving colleagues around Australia just how much our community gets behind our club and our volunteers.
“We appreciate Telstra’s support with this campaign and encourage the community to get behind it so that everyone can enjoy the benefits and have a safer summer. We encourage them to visit a participating Telstra shop or dealer to find out more information.”
