The Junior AFL preliminary finals were played today at Hill Park Oval, Wollongbar.
In the u/12s Byron played Lismore in a tight game with Byron winning the match to play against the minor premiers, the Tweed Tigers, in the Grand Final to be played next Sunday.
Byron Magpies 6 – 8 – 44 d Lismore Swans 4 – 6 – 30.
In the u/14s match between Byron and Ballina, the crowd of supporters from both teams were kept on the edge of their seats as this match was played out.
Both teams were equally matched and both were determined to win the spot in the grand final and it was Byron’s game again.

The grand finals will be played on Sunday the 20th September at Shultz Oval, Bangalow.
