Northern NSW found form too late today to make any impact on the front-runners on the points table at the FFA National Junior Championship for Boys in Canberra.

On the last day of competition, Northern NSW came up against Western Australia and after a punishing Day 2 yesterday losing both their matches, the Northern side was eager to regroup and finish the Championships on a positive note.

Leading the charge was Garden Suburb’s Jacob Tarasenko, who scored all of Northern’s three goals to defeat the West Australian side 3-0.

Today’s result saw Northern NSW finish fourth overall in the Championships.

Continuing the positive end to the Championships for the Northern side, four players were selected in the Championships ‘All-Stars’ side which won 1-0 in their match this afternoon, with the goal scored by Northern’s Jacob Tarasenko. In addition to Tarasenko, the All Stars side included Northern’s Antonee Burke, Josh Murray and Tom Waller.

Northern’s Antonee Burke was also awarded Most Skilful Player of the Championships in the final awards presentations this afternoon.
