Rhonda at Dave’s Bait Shop in Ballina says there are still a few bream around the lower reaches of the Richmond, with quite a few flatties as well.
Blackfish are still going pretty well at Prospect Bridge and in the main river along the Porpoise Wall and up around the ferry.
Beaches have a few bream and salmon, pretty quiet really.
A few school jew and flathead up the beach at Evans Head and I’m sure there are more jew around the headlands if you can find some whitewater – it’s pretty flat.
The salmon have moved in around Main Beach at times and they’re also off the headland.
Offshore fishers are getting reasonable numbers of snapper, trag and patches of school jew in the evenings with a few pearlies also about.
Jackets are out in 50m-plus, and the breeze has made fishing out there even more uncomfortable.
Bar is a snack.
The Evans River has early whiting, some flathead and the bream are well upriver.
