Bruce at Dave’s Bait Shop in Ballina says there are still bream around and the flathead are improving quite well.

Blackfish running pretty well around the Prospect Bridge and the Porpoise Wall.

The sea has started to build but there have been tailor and a lot of salmon, especially around the walls and South Beach.

There should be a few jew around the walls on lures as the sea picks up further.

There were snapper on the closer reefs and the 32s earlier in the week and the jackets were thinning out a little.

Zero swell at Evans Head on Friday morning but expected to rise over the weekend as the wind kicks in.

A few salmon along the beach in the surf but the other day I saw a 3m white shark only 20m away, cruising down the face of an unbroken wave, so don’t wade out too far!

Also some flathead and undersized school jew along the beach, with a few bream as well.

Bream, tailor, school jew and salmon around the headland.

Still jackets out wide with some reasonable snapper and trag close in along with school jew.
