This weekend marks the first round of the Far North Coast Rugby Union Competition.

The zone has already had wonderful success this year, at the Country Championships, winning the Richardson Shield, and having five players picked for Country Honours.

In the first round Ballina play Southern Cross University at home, Lismore host Grafton, Wollongbar welcome Lennox Heads and Casino have the bye. The competition looks strong for the year, with Lennox Head again being expected to be the team to beat, with four NSW Country representatives. The season involves 14 rounds, with six home and away and two byes for each of the teams.
