Previously unbeaten Lismore City were beaten 13 – 11 in a tough fought encounter in Lismore on Saturday. With a chance to level the game in the last minute, the try scored in the corner was not converted, giving Wollongbar the first win against the impressive Lismore for the season.
Wollongbar were dominant for most of the game, which was not reflected on the scoreboard, they continually peppered the Lismore tryline, but lacked the finishing touches on several occasions.
To their credit, Lismore showed why they are leading the competition, continually holding out the Wollongbar defense and were rewarded with a bonus point for the less than 7 point loss.
